critical impact:

libcxml - CXML not supported; use MLIB (CrUn363)

LIB Impacts

Problem description

The Compaq Extended Math Library (CXML) exists on Tru64 UNIX but not on HP-UX. However, a replacement exists in the HP Mathematical Software Library (MLIB).

CXML (previously known as DXML) is a collection of mathematical routines optimized for Alpha systems. These subroutines perform numerically intensive operations that occur frequently in engineering and scientific computing, such as linear algebra and signal processing.

Solution description

Use HP MLIB.

HP MLIB is a similar package of high-performance mathematical software for HP-UX and Linux. HP MLIB has six components, VECLIB, LAPACK, ScaLAPACK, SOLVERS, VMATH, and SuperLU_DIST, which have been optimized for use on HP PA-RISC 2.0, Intel Itanium® 2, Intel IA-32, and AMD Opteron processors. The VECLIB component contains CXML BLAS routines for migrating from Alpha servers to HP-UX servers.
