HP reference products are third party hardware products that have been tested by the third party independent hardware vendor (IHV) supplier to verify compatibility in the HP-UX environment. The vendor agrees to technically support any HP customer who requires assistance with their products and may charge a fee for this technical support. Once the product has been ported and tested by the partner, it can then be listed as "referenced" in the HP partner hardware product solution directory.
IHV products that are HP reference products mean:

- Partner has tested product on HP systems
- Product is referenced on HP website
- Partner sells and supports product
